Things are going amazing on our end. The shows this summer have been amazing, we have been making a ton of new friends and hanging out with even more old ones. There has been so much going on and there is so much to write about, but honestly I don't have enough time right now to do it all, but I did want to mention one thing. We have this awesome thing downloaded on our cell phones now called SayNow. Many of you guys know what this is, from what i hear, but to those like us who are just learning, here's the deal: This is a program that we have downloaded on our cell phones that acts like a switch... Its a switch that we turn on and it makes it so you guys can call a number that isn't actually any of our cell phones number and you ring us on our phones. That way, you guys call, we answer and it's dang awesome. We just hang out on the phone. But we can also turn it off, and here is where the really cool stuff comes in. If we have our phones turned off, you can leave a voicemail and we are able to check your messages, scroll through them, see when you called, where you are from and call you back. All without us ever having your phone number, so it's totally anonymous. We happen to think this is pretty freaking awesome on a number of levels. For one, it is WAY more personal and cool than sending out a blog or a bulletin to a million people, and also, it's way easier and more convenient. We can call you back whenever and just chat! So yeah, not trying to sound like your grandma when she heard about the internet, but we think its pretty awesome. We just wanted to write this so you guys all know that this isn't just some random widget on our myspace or facebook. It's something we actually do and we would love to talk to you guys!!! Thats not because i dont care or have an opinion i just feel it isnt really entirely my place to speak on such things.
Today though i wanna tell you about something that i think is incredibly heavy and important, its a situation that only spreading the word and being passionate will help, it is a tragedy, a crime on humanity itself and generally its disabling a people group,causing pain that i don’t know any of us will ever have to feel.
This is issue is the capture of children in uganda and the congo for child militias. These militias are ran by a man named Joseph coney and he heads up a rebel army called the L.R.A. or the "lords resistance army" this army forces young children to fight as adults against their will, and anyone who stands in the way of the L.R.A. get the fist of it. I could tell you awful things that i've seen i could tell you about mothers and fathers without their children, having to pray at night that their kids are not dead or being used as vehicles of death. I could tell you about how these kids have no number, or birth certificate, no health care, nothing. I think the best thing though is for you to go and check it out for yourselves and organization called invisible children is heading up the lobby for change on this subject please check it out therescue.invisiblechildren.com
You and me are their only hope we are all they have we are their only hope our awareness, our spreading the word, our honesty and compassion and passion and prayers on these issues is the only thing that will help.
In a little more than a week on april 25th, 2009 in a hundred cities all around the world thousands of people will gather to march to "abduct" themselves in a metaphoric way, to stay all night in a park to get the attention of famous people of civilians of government officials, anyone who can spread the word about the tragedy in uganda.

We also recorded our sets every nightof the tour mostly, and we are releasing a 12 song live cd from randomcities on the tour so there very well may be a song that you actuallysaw live on there...if you listen closely you may hear you and yourfriends screaming..hah. Our friend Beau from Saosin mixed the live discand he couldn't have done a a better job. I know some of you have beenkeeping up with the documentary portion of the project atunderoathmovie.com and unfortunately due to differences in opinionas a band on the content and pacing, we've decided to hold back thedocumentary portion of 'Survive'. So much has happened since our last tour ended. As many of you may know we shot a film about our last US tour. We get to watch the first edit this week and I'm so excited! We had a three man film crew follow our bus the entire tour. They shot 70-80 hours of footage in about 6 weeks. That's like 4800 minutes! We only need 90, so the past few months have been spent sifting through each and every frame, trimming the fat and letting Ryan (director/editor) tell the story of Underoath and our tour. We also shot a live show in Philly at the Electric Factory and we're going to have a bunch of those songs cut into the documentary. We also recorded tons of the shows on the tour and will be releasing a live record in conjunction with the film and it will have 12 songs on it. We have the privilege of having a bunch of our friends and colleagues working on this project with us. Adam D. mixed all of the Philly tunes for the live concert stuff, Beau from Saosin is mixing the live tracks for the live disc, Art&Industry shot all of the live footage rom Philly, Andy Vickery from R.A.W. studios engineered and recorded all live material, and so on down the line. This project has been quite an undertaking but in the end I think it will come out to be something pretty sweet. I know originally when I posted about the beginning of filming I spoke about wanting to ranch out and do something more meaningful with our film and not do what we did with 777, and just cut up a bunch of tour footage, and I stand know looking at the project as a whole and I can say we've achieved that goal. I can't wait for you all to see it, and I hope it's as much fun to watch as it was/is to make. We've also been writing for the new record. We go into the studio in a month!!! We're recording with Matt Goldman and Adam D in Atlanta for 5 weeks. Those dudes are some of the best guys to work with in music period. We have 8 songs done right now and They are coming along really well. Some of the heaviest stuff we have ever written, as well as some of the most experimental. I think you will all enjoy it when it's done and we'll be making sure to keep all of you in the loop!!! Anyway, this is the first of many more frequent posts. We have a lot going on and you all have a lot to know!!!! It more times than not, turns into a productive driving force to do anything and all that we can to evaluate our business ethics and more importantly our vision of what our music has to say as well as the way it sounds. In all of this there has been one facet of our industry we have yet to tackle until now....the art of film making. It seems that dvds have become the newest form of watered down content that labels are latching onto to package with cd's and make a buck. Although I think there is something to be said about giving a band a camera for a year, letting them shoot whatever they want, whenever they want , and then editing it down for everyone to see, I feel that the innocence that this approach was once birthed in is now the newest trend of indie labels everywhere. Everyone has a dvd or a re-release packaged with some sort of video content. At this point in the game its hard to stomach 90% of the band related film coming out now. Upon realizing the magnitude of the artistic defficiency within this realm of media, we found ourselves racking our brains and hitting the drawing boards to see how UO could take what everyone is doing and attempt to raise the bar well beyond the status quo. Months of deliberation and brain storming has resulted in a small film team working under the name "The Audible Diversion Group" following our fall tour and shooting a third person documentary for the entirety of "We Believe In Dino-Tours". The film is being shot in 720p High Definition 16:9 widescreen format. Details are still coming together, but I can tell you that this will be the best piece of visual art this band has every released. We have two places where you can read up on the progress of the project and the tour, www.myspace.com/underoathmovie and www.underoathmovie.com . Ryan has posted a short video montage of some early footage and you can read journal entries from Ryan, Seay, and Justin. I hope you all find this as exciting as I do. Blisters are common for drummers but normally they don't get nasty nfections in them. A docter had to do some minor surgery and he can’t use his hand for a week. Kenny Bozich from the band The Almost will be filling in while Aaron's hand heals up for the week. Wow, where do i start... first of all, this tour has been complely awesome so far and so much of that is due to all of you. God has been showing me a whole lot on this tour just as far as how to try to love people more and all of you guys being as awesome to me and the rest of the guys as you are has been helping a boatload and again for that I cant thank you all enough. So this tour is coming to and end here in the next couple of weeks and thats kind of a bummer, but some of our favorite places to play are still right around the corner so that makes us happy so hopefully everyone that reads this who is in one of the upcoming cities comes out to hang out! Atlanta, Florida, Chicago, Texas, Arizona, Cali.... ahh, good times are on the way! Then after this tour, im getting married (yesssssssss), play like 4 charity shows in the southeast, then we FINALLY head into the studio with our friends Matt Goldman and Adam D. to record the heck out of our new album. We are more excited than you guys know about that. Weve been working our butts off on this stuff and we all honestly think that its the best stuff that this band has ever done. We couldn't announce it right away due to our Thrice show being on sale until last night, so sorry for any confusion revolving around this matter. For any of you that don't know, Flower 15 is a week's worth of charity shows in Chicago at The Metro. All proceeds go to inner city children. We start our tour with Thrice, The Bled and Veda tomorrow in Vegas and will be taking that bad larry all the way until Thanksgiving. We'll be taking the first half of December off for Chris's wedding on December 3 and then we will be doing 4 benefit shows Dec. 15-18 in the southeast with our good friends The Chariot, Mewithoutyou, and As Cities Burn. %100 of all door money, after gas and food, will be going to help the hurricane victims of this year as well as sow into each tour dates specific cities inner city needs. Our amazing label has partnered with us on this venture and has agreed to match every dollar earned! I think this will be a great time for us as people to reach out and help others in need and have an amazing time! Keep checking back for more info and the dates will be up soon! We made this to make sure everyone knows about the CD/DVD reissue of "They're Only Chasing Safety". After you spend a few minutes here you will see that a lot of the pictures and text on the site is just like the old site but don't worry that will be changing real soon. Over the next few days and weeks we will be adding tons of new photos and updating all the other areas of the site.

I believe some people are under the impression that our rerelease will have 4 "new" unreleased songs, and that is not the case. One of the songs is the song found on our vinyl "10 friends.....", and the other 3 are demos from Chasing Safety, before the album was recorded. We wanted to show the progression from conception to it's completion. We are under no circumstances trying to make the rerelease sound like anything than what it is. Then what it is, a whole new layout by jacob bannon and a 2 hour long dvd about or lives..behind the scenes.
